The Tiny Forest Feast

A thoughtful girl found a tiny, folded leaf on the mossy forest floor. Inside, there was a message written in teeny-tiny letters inviting her to a picnic. She looked up and saw Pip, a fluffy red squirrel with a very bushy tail and a tiny green bowtie, waving from a low branch. The sun peeked through the leaves, making everything look like a soft painting. A thoughtful girl felt very excited to be invited to such a special event. She wondered what kind of snacks a squirrel might serve to a human friend.

Just then, a bright blue jay named Jay landed on a nearby branch with a loud chirp. Jay tilted his crest and listened to their problem. He told them he had seen something very shiny reflecting the sun down by the bubbling brook. A thoughtful girl and Pip thanked the bird and hurried toward the water. The sound of the splashing brook grew louder as they got closer. They hoped the shiny object was the missing silver spoon that Pip needed for the picnic.

The picnic was wonderful, filled with sweet blueberries, crunchy hazelnuts, and cold juice. A thoughtful girl sat on a large stone while Pip sat on his favorite stump. They shared stories about the forest and the many secrets hidden within the tall trees. Even Jay the blue jay joined them for a few crumbs of nut-bread. A thoughtful girl realized that the best part of any picnic is the friends you share it with. As the sun began to set, she promised to visit Pip again very soon.
