The King of the Jungle Gym: A T-Rex Adventure!
Hoot-hoot! Welcome aboard the Time-Feather Express! I’m Professor Hoot, and today we are flying back 66 million years. Hold onto your hats, Alex, because we are looking for the 'Tyrant Lizard King'—the T-Rex! Look, the jungle is so green and the air is warm!
Professor Hoot Says:
"Did You Know? T-Rex lived during the Cretaceous Period, which was the very last age of the dinosaurs!"
Scene: Professor Hoot the owl with glasses and Alex the child inside a magical flying bus shaped like a giant feather, traveling through a swirling rainbow portal into a prehistoric jungle filled with giant ferns.
Stomp! Stomp! Stomp! Can you feel the ground shaking like a bowl of Jell-O? There he is! Look at those teeth—they are as big as bananas! T-Rex was a carnivore, which is a fancy word for a meat-eater. He used his super strong nose to sniff out his next snack from miles away!
Professor Hoot Says:
"Did You Know? A T-Rex's tooth could be up to 12 inches long—that is as big as a ruler!"
Scene: A massive T-Rex with a big head and tiny arms standing amongst tall prehistoric trees, sniffing the air with its mouth slightly open showing large teeth.
Shhh! Let’s hide behind these big leaves. We found something amazing—a nest! Even though T-Rex was a fierce hunter, they weren't just scary monsters. Look at those giant eggs. T-Rex parents were very careful to build safe homes for their families.
Professor Hoot Says:
"Did You Know? T-Rex eggs were about the size of a loaf of bread!"
Scene: A close-up of a large dinosaur nest made of mud and leaves on the ground, containing several large, oval-shaped eggs.
Look! A tiny baby T-Rex just hatched! It is covered in soft, fuzzy feathers. See how the big mama T-Rex gently nudges her baby with her nose? She stays close to the nest to protect them from other hungry dinosaurs. T-Rexes were very caring parents!
Professor Hoot Says:
"Did You Know? Many scientists believe that baby T-Rexes had feathers to keep them warm, just like modern birds!"
Scene: A huge mother T-Rex looking down kindly at a small, fluffy, feathered baby T-Rex that has just come out of its egg.
It is time to fly back home, Alex! Today we learned that the T-Rex was a mighty meat-eater with a huge roar, but also a gentle parent who loved its babies. They were much more than just big teeth! Thanks for exploring with me! Hoot-hoot!
