Sam and the Golden Snail Race
Sam found a tiny new friend hiding under a big, fuzzy green leaf in the garden. It was Snoozy, a small snail with a very special shell that shimmered like gold. Sam told Snoozy all about the Great Backyard Race that was happening today near the tall, bright sunflowers. Snoozy gave a little wiggle of his antennae, looking very brave and ready for an adventure. Sam promised to be the best coach in the whole world and help Snoozy reach the finish line.
Professor Hoot Says:
"Snails carry their homes on their backs to stay safe!"
Scene: Sam, an energetic kid with olive skin and short brown hair, crouches down in a lush green garden to look at Snoozy, a small, emerald-green snail with a shimmering, swirl-patterned golden shell, sitting on a leaf.
The race began at the edge of the sandbox with a loud whistle! A bright red ladybug zoomed ahead into the grass, and a shiny toy car rolled quickly down the hill. Snoozy was very slow, but he kept moving forward with a steady, brave glide. Sam cheered loudly, clapping his hands for his tiny green friend while following him on the dirt path. Every small inch felt like a giant mile for the little snail on the bumpy garden ground.

Suddenly, a huge obstacle appeared in the middle of the race track. A shiny blue watering can had spilled, creating a vast and sparkling puddle that looked like a deep ocean. The ladybug could not fly over the splashing drops, and the toy car got stuck in the wet mud. Sam watched as Snoozy looked at the water with his big, curious eyes. The backyard felt very big and a little bit scary for such a small racer.

Sam had a wonderful idea to help Snoozy cross the deep, blue water. Sam found a long, flat popsicle stick and carefully placed it across the puddle to make a sturdy bridge. Snoozy used his sticky tummy to grip the wood tightly as he climbed up and over the water. Sam whispered quiet words of courage while the snail slowly made his way across the wooden path. The ladybug watched in surprise as the slow snail took the lead.

"Some snails can sleep for three whole years if they need a long rest!"
Scene: Sam, an energetic kid with olive skin and short brown hair, carefully places a wooden popsicle stick over a puddle, and Snoozy, a small, emerald-green snail with a shimmering, swirl-patterned golden shell, crawls across the stick bridge.
With one final, mighty stretch, Snoozy crossed the finish line at the base of a giant sunflower! Sam let out a giant cheer and decorated Snoozy’s golden shell with a tiny crown made of yellow petals. Snoozy was not the fastest racer, but he was certainly the bravest friend in the entire backyard. Sam realized that even the smallest friends can do big things if they just keep moving forward and never give up on their goals.
