Create Your Own Free Story ✨Sam was exploring the backyard when he found a tiny surprise near the sunflowers. A little mouse named Milo was struggling to hold a very big, polka-dot umbrella. The umbrella was bright yellow and blue, and it looked much too heavy for such a small mouse to carry. Sam knelt down carefully on the grass so he would not scare his new friend. Milo looked up and gave a shy squeak while trying to keep the umbrella perfectly straight.
"Mice use their long whiskers to help them feel things around them in the dark."

Milo, a tiny, fuzzy field mouse with large round ears and a tiny pink nose, is holding a giant, bright polka-dot yellow and blue umbrella that is much larger than the mouse. Bright sunny garden background.

Suddenly, a big gust of wind whooshed through the garden with a loud whistle. The wind caught the inside of the giant umbrella and lifted Milo right off the ground! Sam watched in surprise as the mouse floated up toward the branches of the tall oak tree. Milo held onto the handle with his tiny paws, looking very brave but also very worried. The umbrella looked like a colorful hot air balloon drifting away in the breeze.
"Wind is actually just moving air that we can feel but cannot see with our eyes."

Sam knew he had to act fast to help his tiny friend get back down. He ran through the tall grass, chasing the floating umbrella across the flowery meadow. The wind was pushing Milo toward the thick, prickly blackberry bushes at the edge of the woods. Sam skipped over heavy rocks and dodged garden gnomes as he kept his eyes on the yellow and blue spots in the sky. He did not want Milo to get stuck in the sharp thorns!
"Umbrellas were first made thousands of years ago to protect people from the hot sun."

In the sky above, Milo, a tiny, fuzzy field mouse with large round ears and a tiny pink nose, is being carried away by a giant, bright polka-dot yellow and blue umbrella toward prickly bushes.

As the umbrella drifted a little lower, Sam took a big, energetic leap into the air. He reached out his hands and caught the very edge of the yellow fabric just in time. Sam pulled the umbrella down slowly and gently until Milo’s tiny paws finally touched the soft green grass again. Milo was safe at last, and he did a happy little dance to show how thankful he was. Sam gave the brave mouse a gentle high-five with his smallest finger.
"Some field mice can jump very high, sometimes up to a foot in the air, to escape danger."

Milo, a tiny, fuzzy field mouse with large round ears and a tiny pink nose, is safely touching the grass as Sam holds the umbrella.

Just then, the first cold drops of rain began to fall from the gray clouds. Sam and Milo huddled together under the giant, polka-dot umbrella to stay nice and dry. The rain made a cozy drumming sound on the fabric as they watched the garden turn sparkly and wet. Even though the umbrella was much too big for a mouse, it was the perfect size for two friends to share. Sam felt very happy to have saved the day and made a new friend.
"Rain is very important because it provides the water that flowers and trees need to grow."
