Sam and the Candy Express
Sam loved playing with his favorite toy train, Toot-Toot, more than anything else in the world. One afternoon, while pushing the engine across the fuzzy blue rug, Sam noticed a shimmering tunnel that had never been under the sofa before. It was glowing with a soft, golden light and smelled faintly of sweet strawberries. With a curious smile, Sam pushed Toot-Toot through the mysterious entrance and crawled right after it. The air felt warm and tingly as the shadows of the living room faded away into something much more colorful.
Professor Hoot Says:

As Sam popped out of the other side of the tunnel, the world looked like a giant dessert tray. The ground was covered in bouncy green jellybean grass, and the trees had trunks made of chocolate with swirling cotton candy leaves. Suddenly, a tall friend appeared to say hello. It was Taffy, a cheerful giraffe made of stretchy pink and white sugar. Taffy explained that this was the Land of Sweets, where everything was delicious and the rivers ran with cold milk. Sam and Toot-Toot followed Taffy down a track made of crunchy graham crackers.

"Cotton candy is made of mostly air and very thin threads of melted sugar."

The adventure was going perfectly until they reached the Great Marshmallow Meadow. The tracks were covered in a thick, gooey white bog that looked like melted clouds. Toot-Toot’s bright yellow wheels began to spin faster and faster, but the train couldn't move forward. Oh no! The engine was stuck deep in the sticky marshmallow mess. Sam tried to pull, but the marshmallow was too heavy and stretchy. Taffy looked concerned and tapped her chin with her sugary hoof, trying to think of a clever way to save the train.

"Marshmallows get their bouncy texture from gelatin and whipped air."
Scene: Sam, an energetic kid with olive skin and short brown hair, looks worried as Sam stands next to a gooey white marshmallow bog. Toot-Toot, a shiny red toy steam engine with a gold chimney and bright yellow wheels, is sinking slightly into the sticky marshmallow white fluff. Taffy had a wonderful idea and reached up to a nearby tree made of black licorice. She carefully plucked a long, sturdy vine and tied it around Toot-Toot’s golden chimney. With Sam pushing from behind and Taffy pulling with her strong neck, they worked together as a team. With a loud 'pop' sound, the train flew out of the sticky bog and landed safely on a peppermint path. Sam hugged Taffy's long, sweet neck and thanked her for being such a helpful friend. They both laughed as they brushed marshmallow bits off the red engine.

"Licorice is a root that people have used for flavoring for hundreds of years."
Scene: Taffy, a friendly, tall giraffe made of pink and white striped pulled-sugar taffy with soft marshmallow spots, is using a long black licorice rope to pull Toot-Toot, a shiny red toy steam engine with a gold chimney and bright yellow wheels, out of the marshmallow bog. The sun, which looked like a bright lemon drop, began to set behind the chocolate hills. Sam knew it was time to head back home before dinner. After saying a final goodbye to Taffy, Sam pushed Toot-Toot back through the golden tunnel under the sofa. Suddenly, Sam was back in the playroom, and the tunnel had vanished. Sam looked down at the toy train and noticed something amazing. Stuck to the back of the engine was a tiny piece of pink and white taffy! Sam smiled, knowing that the candy land would always be there for the next adventure.
