Oliver and the Midnight Gardener

Oliver was worried about his colorful garden. The bright yellow sunflowers and purple daisies looked very thirsty and droopy in the evening heat. He had watered them all day, but the summer sun was very hot and the soil felt dry. 'I wish I could help them more,' Oliver whispered to his favorite garden gnome. He did not know that a magical surprise was waiting for him when the clock struck twelve.

Oliver crept outside into the cool night air to say a quiet hello. He found Glimmer sitting near a large, round pebble looking very sad and worried. 'What is wrong, Glimmer?' Oliver asked softly, trying not to startle the little man. Glimmer pointed at the heavy grey stone and explained that his magical silver watering can was trapped underneath. Without the special can, the thirsty flowers would have to wait until the morning for a refreshing drink.

Together, Oliver and Glimmer walked through the long garden rows. Glimmer used his tiny silver watering can to give each flower a magical, sparkly drink of water. Oliver helped by pointing out the hidden daisies that were hiding in the shadows. The flowers began to stand tall and look strong again under the silver light of the moon. As the sun started to rise, Glimmer returned to his spot, and Oliver went back to bed, happy to have a secret garden friend.
