Lily and the Cupcake Dragon
In the middle of the Whispering Woods, Lily went for a curious walk. She usually heard the roar of the wind, but today she smelled something sweet like vanilla. Following her nose, she found a hidden cave decorated with sparkly blue ribbons. Instead of a scary beast, she found a very busy dragon named Barnaby. Lily watched as he carefully stirred a giant bowl of pink batter with a long wooden spoon.
Scene: Lily, a thoughtful child with tan skin and straight black hair, stands at the entrance of a sparkly stone cave decorated with blue ribbons. Inside the cave, Barnaby, a friendly green dragon with shiny emerald scales, two small golden horns, and a tiny white chef's hat, is stirring a giant wooden bowl of pink batter.
Barnaby looked very worried and his green scales seemed a little dull. He told Lily that he was supposed to bake cupcakes for the Forest Fair, but his favorite silver whisk had disappeared! Without his whisk, he could not make the frosting fluffy enough to taste like clouds. Lily decided to help her new friend and looked around the kitchen for clues. She saw a trail of shiny glitter leading right out of the cave door.
Scene: Barnaby, a friendly green dragon with shiny emerald scales, two small golden horns, and a tiny white chef's hat wearing a flour-dusted red apron, looks sadly at Lily, a thoughtful child with tan skin and straight black hair. Lily is pointing at a trail of silver glitter on the stone floor of the kitchen cave.
Lily and Barnaby followed the glittery trail deep into the forest until they met a chatty squirrel. The squirrel told them that a group of blue birds had found something shiny and carried it to the tallest pine tree. Barnaby tried to fly, but he was so nervous about his cupcakes that his wings felt heavy. Lily held his hand and encouraged him, telling him they would find it together. They walked through the tall grass, searching every branch they could see.
Scene: In a grassy forest meadow, Lily, a thoughtful child with tan skin and straight black hair, holds the hand of Barnaby, a friendly green dragon with shiny emerald scales, two small golden horns, and a tiny white chef's hat wearing a flour-dusted red apron. They are both looking up at a very tall pine tree while a small brown squirrel watches them.
When they reached the tall pine tree, they saw the silver whisk wedged between two branches. The blue birds thought it was a wonderful new swing and were chirping happily! Lily didn't want to be mean, so she offered the birds some soft breadcrumbs from her pocket. The birds loved the snack and happily flew down, leaving the whisk behind. Barnaby reached up with his long green claws and gently rescued his favorite baking tool.
Scene: High in a pine tree, a giant silver whisk is stuck in a branch. Lily, a thoughtful child with tan skin and straight black hair, is standing below holding out a handful of breadcrumbs to two blue birds. Barnaby, a friendly green dragon with shiny emerald scales, two small golden horns, and a tiny white chef's hat wearing a flour-dusted red apron, is reaching up to grab the whisk.
They hurried back to the cave and got to work right away. Barnaby used the whisk to make the fluffiest, sweetest frosting the forest had ever seen. Lily helped decorate each cupcake with tiny sugar stars and rainbow sprinkles. When they were finished, Barnaby let out a small puff of warm steam to set the icing, but he didn't burn a single thing. They were finally ready for the fair, and Barnaby was the happiest baker in the world.
Scene: Lily, a thoughtful child with tan skin and straight black hair, and Barnaby, a friendly green dragon with shiny emerald scales, two small golden horns, and a tiny white chef's hat wearing a flour-dusted red apron, are sitting together at a stone table. Barnaby is holding a tray of sparkly cupcakes, and Lily is smiling as she places a sugar star on top of one.
