The trees were tall and shiny with leaves that made a beautiful tinkling sound like tiny silver bells when the wind blew. Leo was on a very important mission today to find his favorite silver whistle that had vanished from his pocket. He looked carefully under heavy iron gears and behind metallic bushes, but it was nowhere to be found. Suddenly, the ground beneath his feet began to vibrate with a rhythmic tick-tock sound that echoed through the valley.

Out from behind a hill of bronze pebbles stepped Cinder-Snap, the giant clockwork dragon who guarded the valley. One of his largest golden gears was missing, and he could not wag his tail or fly properly without it. Leo felt a little bit nervous because the dragon was so big, but then he saw a single tear made of shiny oil rolling down the dragon's metallic cheek. Leo decided to step forward and ask if he could help his new mechanical friend.
