Barnaby's Tropical Twist

Zoe was building a tall sandy castle when she saw something very strange. A huge, fluffy white polar bear was sitting on a lounge chair! Barnaby the polar bear looked very confused as he adjusted his shades. He had been floating on a piece of ice that melted right near this sunny tropical island. Zoe smiled and walked over to say hello to her new snowy friend, wondering how a bear from the cold ended up on her warm beach.

Let us build you a snowy house, Zoe shouted with a clever idea. They tried to pile up the shimmering white sand to make a giant, sturdy igloo. They worked together, but the sand was too dry and kept sliding down in a messy heap. Barnaby tried to pat the walls flat with his big, heavy paws, but the roof just went splat on the ground. Zoe and Barnaby both laughed, even though they were a bit frustrated by the wiggly sand.

Barnaby spent the whole afternoon splashing and floating in the chilly cave pool. Zoe sat on a smooth, grey rock and told him exciting stories about the island's colorful parrots. Barnaby realized that even though he missed the North Pole, a tropical vacation could be quite wonderful with a brave new friend. They shared a snack of juicy, sweet mangoes and waited for the cool evening breeze to blow through the trees.
